Seeing Eye Dog Joke

There are two guys, one with a Doberman Pincher and one with a Chihuahua.

The guy with the Doberman Pincher says to the guy with the Chihuahua, "Let's go over to that restaurant and get something to eat."

The guy with the Chihuahua says, "We can't go in there. We've got dogs with us." The guy with the Doberman Pincher says, "Just follow my lead."

They walk over to the restaurant, the guy with the Doberman Pincher puts on a pair of dark sunglasses, and he starts to walk in. A guy at the door says, "Sorry, mac, no pets allowed."

The guy with the Doberman Pincher says, "You don't understand. This is my seeing-eye dog."

The guy at the door says, "A Doberman Pincher?"

He says, "Yes, they're using them now, they're really very good."

The guy at the door says, "Come on in."

The guy with the Chihuahua figures, "What the heck," so he puts on a pair of dark sunglasses and starts to walk in.

The guy at the door says, "Sorry, pal, no pets allowed."

The guy with the Chihuahua says, "You don't understand. This is my seeing-eye dog."

The guy at the door says, "A Chihuahua?"

He says, "You mean they gave me a Chihuahua?"

This is a joke about animals, I found it quite funny.

Green Puppy Born

Unbelievable truth! A cute puppy born in New Orleans was born “green.” Veterinarians said it is possible for a newborn puppy's fur to be green because the placenta, which is green, rubs off at birth.
The owner of the puppy ended up naming that puppy Wasabi

She Stayed At Her Post

One morning when I went down to the paddocks to feed the horses, I saw Happy, our fat black Welsh pony, standing near the fence by herself. At 19 years old, she’s the matriarch and usually stays close to the younger ones. When I threw down the hay she didn’t move, which was out of character as she’s usually the first to eat. However, I didn’t think too much of it.
A couple of hours later when I went back to check the water in the troughs, she was in exactly the same spot. At 4pm when I went down to feed the horses, Happy still hadn’t moved so I walked across the paddock to see if she was OK.
As I got closer, I noticed that the two top railings of the fence were missing and there was a big gap where it had been kicked down by the over-exuberant stallion in the neighbouring paddock. He could have got through the gap and caused a lot of damage to the younger horses, chasing them or even killing them. Happy had stood all day guarding the gap so that he couldn’t get in.
She didn’t move away until I’d fixed the fence and she was confident the other horses were safe. Then she came to the gate and neighed for her dinner. It’s awful to think what could’ve happened if she wasn’t there to watch the fence.

Robots Could Replace Adorable Animals in Toxicity Tests

cutebunny

Well, sometimes we talk about the environmental benefits of digitizing physical media...but today we're going to talk about the environmental benefits of digitizing physical bunnies.

According to the BBC, scientists are working on ways to replace live animal testing of everything from cosmetics to pesticides with "high speed, automated robots" and "live cells grown in a laboratory."

Samples of chemicals will be dropped onto dishes containing human or animal cells grown in the laboratory.
These will then be studied for signs of toxicity using a variety of biochemical and genetic tests.
The ultimate goal is to develop non-animal based testing methods that are rigorous enough to be submitted for regulatory approval.

Sounds preferable to the traditional systems. Of course, it wouldn't be a full approximation of the marvelous beauty and intricate systems of a real-live cute little bunny rabbit. So for pharmaceutical and broader carcinogen and system-wide effects, I'm afraid they'd still go under the knife.

Nevertheless, this would certainly be a step in the right direction.

Need Some Time Out

I was working in my backyard one afternoon when an old, weary-looking dog wandered in. I could tell by his collar and well-fed belly that he wasn’t homeless. He followed me into the house, walked down the hall and fell asleep in a corner. An hour later he went to the door and looked at me, so I let him out.
The next day he returned, resumed his position in the hall and slept for an hour. This continued every day for several weeks. I was curious as to where he was coming from so I pinned a note to his collar that read “Every afternoon your dog comes to my house for a nap.”
The next day he arrived with a reply pinned to his collar: “He lives in a house with ten children – he’s trying to catch up on his sleep. Can I come with him tomorrow?!”
I let him in every time he came around after that. The poor dog just wanted a break!
